Destry Allen Spielberg Proves Her Talent with ‘Please Don’t Feed the Children’
While 28 Years Later competes at the box office, Steven Spielberg’s filmmaker daughter Destry Allen Spielberg has her own virus-centered film coming to streaming this week. Please Don’t Feed the Children shows promise from the get-go, featuring a unique premise based around a plague that starts out infecting adults before moving on to children. Starring a duo of popular TV stars — Downton Abbey star Michelle Dockery and Breaking Bad standout Giancarlo Esposito — Spielberg’s directorial debut feature mostly works.
Maybe Spielberg, an iconic filmmaker and Oscar winner who shot to stardom 50 years ago with Jaws, has indeed passed along his filmmaking talent to his offspring. It’s not the most impactful post-apocalyptic thriller to date, but some shocking reveals in the third act are enough to recommend Please Don’t Feed the Children to edgy film buffs.
